Everyone has a past – old jobs, loves, experiences and plenty of other things they don’t talk about, but rarely does that come out. Jack Robinson’s past career as a photographer was unknown to his associates, and he had few friends to share that information with. When Robinson died, his boss, Dan Oppenheimer, went to clean out the apartment and stumbled upon something truly surprising.
“I opened this one box,” says Oppenheimer. and stacked down to the bottom was Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Jack Nicholson, The Who.” As it turns out, Robinson, who worked at a stained glass studio until his death, was a successful photographer back in his day, hanging with Andy Warhol and taking shots of some of the biggest names around.
