The folks at Tamron are always hard at
work on new lenses and one of the latest is a 90mm macro that
improves on the previous by adding a few features and improvements.
In the new SP 90mm f/2.8 lens you’ll find both Vibration Compensation
(VC) and Tamron’s own Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) focus system.
Tamron has created a lens with a
rounded diaphragm that stays circular even when brought down two
steps from fully open to help give you the blur effects you want.
The lens features one Low Dispersion and two Extra Low Dispersion glass elements to help eliminate unwanted aberrations.
The 90mm lens also utilizes Internal
Focus, which utilizes only the internal lens group when focusing.
This ensures that the length of the lens does not change when
focusing.
Tamron’s new SP 90mm F/2.8 Di VC USD is
designed for full size dSLRs and will be coming in Canon, Nikon and
Sony mounts, though the Sony version won’t have image stabilization due to their camera bodies already offering SteadyShot IS. The lens will be available by the end of the year, but we won’t find
out pricing until the release date gets closer.
