Exposure, the Photoshop and Lightroom plug-in from Alien Skin, is getting a significant update when February rolls around. You’ll get plenty of new effects, but one of the biggest boosts is speed.
“This is the most significant update to Exposure since its creation,” says Tom Welsh, who designed Exposure, “Across the board everything is faster and much easier to use.” One prime example is the ability to mouse over a preset for a thumbnail preview – no need to select and apply the preset before knowing whether you like it or not.
In addition to the regular assortment of effects emulating film and lo-fi cameras, Alien Skin has added brand new texture overlays. These new overlays are made from “high resolution photos of light leaks, dust and scratches, and borders,” and add plenty of realism to your effects.
You can pick up Exposure 4 next month when it launches at $ 249. If you bought Exposure 3 in November of 2011 or later, you’ll be getting Exposure 4 absolutely free.
