Just about six months ago, Google
picked up Nik Software. They put a strong emphasis on the company’s
Snapseed program, and the smartphone version of it in particular. As
of now, the company has announced that it won’t be supporting desktop
versions of Snapseed in the future.
“Existing customers will continue
to be able to download the software and can contact us for support,”
says Google on the subject. They won’t be updating the program any
more though, nor will they be selling it. If you’re worried about
monetizing on the mobile app, you have nothing to fear. “We’ll
continue to offer the Snapseed mobile app on iOS and Android for
free.”
