Some companies build their
infrastructure where it’s cheapest to do so and others put things
right close to home. Not Hassleblad. The Swedish camera maker has
put its new design center right in the heart of Italy – not far
from Venice and the Italian fashion industry
“We plan to capitalize on having
the best of both worlds with this new Italian centre and our
traditional Swedish camera manufacturing expertise,” says
chairman and CEO Dr. Larry Hansen. “The region we have chosen
for this new centre of design excellence is home to many high-tech
manufacturers, including those working in the watch, high end
automobile and aerospace industries.”
In this new design center, Hassleblad
will be creating a new DSLR, a compact camera and its own line of
accessories.
