Fuji’s X-series of prosumer cameras has been quite popular amongst photo enthusiasts, and for good reason. These models offer dSLR-like image quality and performance, in a much more compact form factor. We’ve just completed testing one of their latest additions to the line, the Fujifilm X100S. This model builds off the foundations of the X100 from 2011, with some appealing improvements. Core features include a 16-megapixel APS-C X-TRANS CMOS II image sensor, their EXR Processor II image processing unit, an Intelligent Hybrid AF system (uses both Contrast and Phase detection AF), a high-quality fixed 35mm equivalent lens with a fast f/2.0 aperture, a high resolution 2.8-inch LCD, and a cool EVF/OVF combination eye-level viewfinder system. All this is packed into a rangefinder-like body, that sports a retail price of about $ 1300.
