Hot off the press, Nikon USA has just unveiled the long awaited successor to their popular D7000, with the new D7100. This is what we consider a mid-range dSLR, offering improved performance and image quality when compared with their entry-level models (like the D5200); however, it still utilizes an APS-C sized image sensor. The D7100 also borrows some features from Nikon’s professional-level models (like the D300s), specifically moisture and dust resistance. Other features include a 24.1-megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor, EXPEED 3 processor, 6fps burst shooting, full 1080 (30p) HD video recording, a 3.2-inch display, and a new 51-point AF system to name a few.
