Nikon D5000 12.3 MP DX Digital SLR Camera
The D5000 has many features in common with the D90.
It was the second Nikon DSLR camera to feature movie mode after the feature was introduced by the D90, though this capability has now been extended to other models as well, such as the D300S and the D3S. As with the D90, movies shot at 720p are limited to 5 minutes duration and 20 minutes for all other resolutions. One-button Live View mode features subject tracking and face detection autofocus modes.
The Nikon D5000 is a good choice for newcomers to the digital SLR market. It is available in body only or with an 18 to 55mm lens kit. Weighing just over 21 ounces, it features 12.3 megapixels, an 11-point AF system, and an improved image processor that offers optional GPS. Nikon D5000 provides excellent picture quality, solid performance, and great color photos. The Nikon D5000 makes a great entry-level digital SLR camera for those looking to take their photography to the next level but who don’t want to break the bank in order to do so.
