Expect to see some very cool new photos
coming out of the Olympics this year. Thanks to 11 cameras set up by
Reuters, you’ll be seeing shots that were previously impossible to
get. Instead of simply using fixed remote cameras, the photographers
will be using Canon 1-DX cameras mounted onto crane like devices that
allow for six-axis control.
The folks at Wired
have a full story and plenty of pictures, and you can check out a
behind-the-scenes video for more. Though some photographers
worry that this will become a standard, the cameras are only being
used for very specific shots that a human couldn’t possibly get.
