Sigma, known for their aftermarket lens options and unique cameras, has announced the all new DP3 Merrill; a 46-megapixel fixed lens camera. This unit uses a large Foveon X3 image sensor, which measures 23.5×15.7mm, and is mated to a fast 50mm f/2.8 lens. The massive 45MB image files are processed by the Dual TRUE II image processing engine, and you frame your photos with a high resolution 3.0-inch LCD.
While most of this camera’s features are quite impressive, its movie mode leaves one wanting, with a maximum resolution of just 480p (640×480).
