The new line of lighting kits from Smith-Vector is designed to appeal to pros and amateurs alike, in both photo and video fields. They also expand the offerings for camera dealers and help the new DSLR owner get into a bit of lighting.
“The mass appeal of DSLR cameras is spreading among family memory keepers and other types of photographers, and is no longer just within the domain of the pro or pro-sumer,” says marketing manager Bob Higgins. ” Each kit is designed for specific imaging applications and will help take the guesswork out for the consumer looking for lighting equipment and for the dealer that is stocking it.”
For the beginner, there’s the FlashLite 110i, which offers a 110 watt monolight with a 60 watt quartz halogen modeling lamp. Stepping up to the Monolight kit gets you either a FLC200 or FLC300 monolight. At the top of the line is the Quartz Halogen series, which offers a 765-UM light and an on camera SV-840.
All of the kits come in a variety of configurations, including starter kits, portraiture kits and setups for on-location shooting. You can find out more from Smith-Vector.
