Project Imaginat10n is a very cool
promotion run by Canon, in which filmmaker/actor Ron Howard teams with
Jaime Foxx, Eva Longoria and others to direct short films based off
of photos submitted by photographers. Fans were able to vote to
narrow down the list to 91 and Ron Howard selected a single photo to
inform the theme of every single one of these short films. Each
director will pick another nine photos from the remaining 90 to
further inspire their film.
The photo that will tie everything
together is called “Unparalleled” and it features a man and
a woman walking down the street. The twist here is that the man
appears to be walking upside down. It’s a cool black and white
picture and it should help to inspire some very interesting films.
All five of these films will go into
production by the spring of 2013 and will premiere at a special
Project Imaginat10n film festival. Five more directors will be
participating – the names of whom will be announced at a later
date.
