There’s a lot going into the upcoming operating system by Microsoft, but the thing that might best catch the eye of the photography community is the way Windows 8 will be handling photos.
Some of the improvements are things that may not seem like a big deal, but will almost certainly have a significant impact on the ease of using Windows for photogs. For starters, Windows 8 will automatically find the correct orientation of a photo based on EXIF data. When browsing through a massive folder of photos, that’s a huge help.
File copying is improved as well. Instead of just relying on the name of a photo, Windows 8 will take other factors into account, such as size and date modified.
