That’s right, early this morning Samsung rolled out three new cameras for the upcoming holiday season. These units cover a broad range of needs, whether you’re looking for an ultra-compact camera for self-portraits, a compact super-zoom, or a powerful EVIL (Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens) camera.
The WB750 boasts an impressive zoom range, with an 18x optical zoom lens covering a 35mm equivalent range of 24 – 432mm. This can be extended to 24x, with Samsung’s Smart Zoom technology. The WB750 also sports a 12.5-megapixel, BSI CMOS image sensor, full 1080p HD video capture, Smart Auto 2.0, and a host of other useful features.
Next is the MV800. This camera builds upon Samsung’s DualView cameras, however it only offers one display. Due to a lack in real estate on the front from the zoom lens, the DualView cameras were limited in how large the front LCD screen could be. With the MV800, that’s not an issue. Instead of a front LCD, Samsung has created a hinge at the top of the MV800’s large 3.0-inch AMOLED display, which allows it to be tilted upward to face forward. This offers a much larger display to use for framing you, or you and your friends. Other key features include 16-megapixels, a 5x optical zoom lens, and various user friendly exposure options.
Saving the best for last, Samsung has launched yet another powerful NX-series camera; the NX200. This is the sleekest NX model to date, however it’s still packed with features you’d expect from a larger, DSLR camera. These include a 20.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS image sensor, burst mode shooting at up to 7fps at full resolution, a 3.0-inch AMOLED display, ISO options from 100 – 12,800, and much more. They even announced nine (that’s right NINE) new i-Function lenses alongside the NX200, making for a total of 17 lens options in their NX system family.
