Canon and Ron Howard Pair for Second Year of “Project Imagin8ion”

Ronny My Boy!.jpgLast year, Ron Howard and Canon got together for the Project Imagin8ion campaign, the first photo contest to inspire a Hollywood short film. Howard used eight submissions from photographers to create a short film directed by Bryce Dallas Howard. Called When You Find Me, the Ron Howard produced film is about two estranged sisters that rekindle their bond after their mother passes away. It’s a touching film that’s been screened at several popular film festivals as well as IFC. You can watch the film below:

The campaign, which will run for a second year, is currently in the works and will be produced by Ron Howard again. You can visit the Long Live Imagination YouTube channel for more information and a personal message from Ron Howard about the next contest.

Also included on the same YouTube channel, you can check out photographs taken with Canon cameras that were submitted based off excerpts of a screenplay. Howard is inviting more Canon photographers to submit photos inspired by the excerpts.

Canon is not only a sponsor of Steve’s Digicams, but usually ranks in our top choices for camera models. Be sure to check out the Canon EOS Rebel T3i as well as Canon’s EF lenses if you are considering competing in this year’s Project Imagin8ion competition.
