The folks at Lensbaby are well known for
their tiltable selective-focus lenses but it looks like they may have
some competition in the near future. Olympus has just patented a
selective-focus lens of its very own.
Of course, just because something gets
patented doesn’t mean it’s going to get made. Still, the advantages
to a company branded lens are clear. An Olympus tilt-shift would
likely play nice with AF and other features of Olympus cameras. Any
sort of extra control on a lens that’s normally completely manual
would be a boon.
