A few months back, Sigma decided to restructure its lens division and make things a little bit easier for customers to understand. In doing so, they created the Art, Contemporary and Sports categories, each of which will feature appropriate lenses.
The first in the company’s Art line is a 35mm f/1.4 designed for a bright picture and a significant bokeh effect. Sigma says this lens is also very well suited to HD video, thanks to the large aperture. It sports one Low Dispersion element and a few Special Low Dispersion glass elements to correct aberrations.
You’ll be able to pick up a Canon version of this lens for $ 995 this December, while Nikon, Pentax and Sony mounts will be out in 2013.
