Nikon made kind of weird move with the D4. The camera seems to be packed with everything you could want in a camera, except built-in Wi-Fi. If you want to control the camera remotely without having to plug in, you have to pick up the $ 900 WT-5A adapter.
Of course, if you don’t feel like spending $ 900, you can pick up a cheap Wi-Fi bridge like the VAP11G and attach it for wireless connectivity.
“The limitation of the device is that it didn’t act as an access point- it would always need an established WiFi network,” writes one user, adding that adding a wireless accent point would still keep the setup far under the $ 900 mark.
