The latest versions of Photoshop have finally launched! CS6 and CS6 extended bring a wide range of new features to the software, including Content-Aware Patch, a new Blur interface and design tools both new and re-designed. The update also adds the Adobe Mercury graphics engine, which allows Photoshop to make use of your graphics card for processing power.
“Creativity is at the very center of our efforts,” says product VP Winston Hendrickson, “both in developing exceptional tools, and enabling our users to create beautiful imagery that stands out from the visual clutter around us.”
If you’re looking to enter the third dimension with your pictures, CS6 Extended has plenty to offer you. It includes different 3D effects and 3D workflows to allow you to work in the new environment with ease.
You can watch a rebroadcast of the Photoshop CS6 launch any time on April 23rd or an on-demand version starting on April 24th for more information and insight into the new program.
For those who are excited about the release of CS6, but dreading the cost ($ 699 USD for CS6 or $ 999 for CS6 Extended), you’ll be glad to hear that Adobe is now offering subscription pricing for CS6 at $ 19.99/month with a 1 year agreement, or $ 29.99 on a month-to-month basis. This makes CS6 accessible by a much broader range of photogs.
They’re also boasting their new Adobe Create Cloud membership service, which gives you access to all of Adobe’s powerful software suites for just $ 49.99/month with a 1 year agreement, or $ 74.99/month on a month-to-month schedule. Either way, we’re giving kudos to Adobe for making their powerful software suites obtainable by both professionals and enthusiasts with these flexible pricing options.
