Upgrade from S3 IS, and guess what ‘the S3 IS offers the most pleasing results. The photo quality of the SX1 is not even close to the Canon DSLR CMOS. The SX1’s CMOS sensor is a very big disappointment. Color and dynamics are not better than the SX10 and the SX1 noise from the sensor is what I expect from a cheap camera. Amazon service is great – if you are looking for a good prosumer camera, go get a Nikon or Canon SX10 IS or Sony. Do not even bother with this overpriced SX1 less use of CMOS technology. Rating: 5.2

We use our cameras in our store every day. We still have three Nikon in the past. All had excellent PQ, but all are dead about every 2-3 years. So we decided this time to try a different camera. We chose the Canon SX1 IS because of the reviews here. Let me tell you how bad this camera is, first the PQ is horrible. One of our camera phones produced almost identical PQ. Only slightly worse. I called Canon and agree with the phone nice person, had no explanation. I suggested that the images via e-mail to one of their Techs higher. Two days later, no answer. Update: A week later I called and asked about the picture, what they thought of themselves. They said they could not obtain. I emailed again to the person on the phone and took him while I was on the phone and said they were typical of the images for the camera. If the typical, I must say, Canon has a very low standards for this Kamera.2. The keys are in the wrong places. You can not take or handle this camera w / o hitting buttons unbeabsichtigt.3. This first camera weights 5 pounds. This is approximately 2 12 oz cans of soda. to take to get two cans of soda and try that around like a Fotoapparat.4. There is only one way to grab the camera and requires two hands. There is no other way to do it successfully nutzen.5. It comes only with a standard RCA cable to the appearance of HD video. That is simply terrible. Who in their right mind would set a standard cable with an HD camcorder? Sixth The SD card is very, very difficult raus.7. HD movies will not play on my computer. [UPDATE: We had to get QT 7 update to play. What works. However, the video is jerky and jumpy. Approximately every 1 second, it seems to skip several frames. The FP just expect good to very low level of HD quality. ] I know I’m overally is drastic, but it’s hard to keep it cool considering what a $ 500 + “” HD camera. I like the wide field of view is fantastic. The 20X zoom is excellent. . . in theory. The problem is that both have no value if the PQ is no better than a camera phone. I took my picture right here on this machine, so you can see yourself uploaded. Shows a dark spot, the other area is the kitchen sink. You can judge if I bin.Fazit overly critical of this $ 500 camera: if you have the image quality, ease of maintenance or ergonomics, skip this level ein.Meine experience: well-seasoned Amateur.Ich ask me, some of the posts on this website. They sound as if they were written by professional writers for a public relations campaign has been. Trust this and other “noise and grain.” This is the truth of this camera. This camera is a dog. Make no mistake, this is not a point and shoot camera. Although it is very specific, is to use a little ‘harder if you’re not used to this level of camera. I had many pictures come out blurry. ISO image has the most (frustrating!) Be renewed. The instruction book should be read, and even then it is hard to remember what all the icons. Some of the images appear grainy. The high-def video occupies huge memory. Perhaps someone with experience with cameras would be better to love and take good pictures with it. For me it was not too dissapointment with him. I had several Canon cameras over the years. I decided to buy this to replace my A650 lost. In general, cameras Canon, very good with exquisite menus and controls. Is not this model. For some reason, Canon has decided that all was well for their cameras and make waste, much, much worse: – Change the settings using the menus and shooting is like a maze. Even if you’re with other models from Canon, is used differently than others. . very intuitive. – It has a knob for selecting settings and options. The dial-quality feels cheap, is quite awkward to use and does not respond. – It ‘s a battery hog. It takes four AA batteries, and even with a fully loaded 2600 mA NiMH is the juice in a couple of days. – This lens does not retract but instead of a lens. You put on / off every time you make a recording. – It ‘s quite bulky and relatively heavy, a big disadvantage when you travel or need tragen.Zusammenfassend all day can say is this camera for what it is too expensive. You can get similar models for much less. Alternatively, for just a little ‘more is possible to get a SLR camera. Rating: 5.1
