“Faces of Ground Zero” Exhibit Opens Today

Faces-of-ground-zero.jpgThe tragedy at the World Trade Center that occurred nearly ten years ago is something that we won’t be forgetting any time soon. It’s a major historic event, and one that has spurred artists, songwriters, authors and photographers to capture the moment in their own way.

Photographer Joe McNally chose to shift the focus from remembering tragedy to highlighting the people that were directly affected by the event. From families of victims to firefighters that risked their lives trying to save those of others, his book “Faces of Ground Zero, Portraits of the Heroes of September 11, 2001″ represents a moment in time with each of these people.

Now, ten years later, McNally is taking an updated version of the exhibition to the Time Warner Center in New York. It’s free to get into thanks to a sponsorship by Nikon, and it runs from today until September 12, 2011.
