The flooding in Thailand affected a large number of people and destroyed businesses including several manufacturing facilities operated by camera makers. The good news is that things are starting to recover.
Nikon issued an update on the situation and things are looking good. Water has been fully removed from the Rojana Industrial Park where the company’s facility is located and Nikon is putting its focus on getting their plant up and running. They’ve even been able to get production going at partner facilities which means that camera shipment has officially resumed.
The company says that production will still be a bit limited, but they expect their main plant to begin making cameras again by January and resume full production in March of next year.
