Olympus Announces Their Most Advanced Lifeproof Camera Yet: The Tough TG-1 iHS

oly_TG-1.jpgOlympus has been creating Lifeproof point-n-shoot cameras for a long time; in fact, the longest out of all the digicam manufacturers. Today, they’ve unleashed the baddest model yet, the TG-1 iHS. TG-1 is an appropriate model name, as it holds the #1 spot in the Tough line as their new flagship model for 2012. On top of offering some of the most rugged specifications we’ve seen, like being waterproof down to 40 feet and shockproof from a 6.6 foot drop, the TG-1 boasts an all new iHS technology from Olympus.

The iHS system incorporates their “FAST AF” technology, which was first introduced on their latest PEN cameras, with a new lens expandability system. The TG-1 sports a super fast f/2.0, 4x optical zoom lens (25-100mm); which is not removable. However, Olympus has created a conversion lens adapter that allows you to attach either a Fisheye or Teleconverter lens to the TG-1; both of which are also waterproof units.

Other features include a fast 12-megapixel, 1/2.3-inch backlit CMOS image sensor, TruePic VI processor, a 3.0-inch OLED display, high speed burst shooting at up to 10fps, Multi-Motion IS and much more.
