Firmware updates are always nice to have, even if the performance tweak isn’t something you’ll immediately appreciate or notice at all. The newest update to the Olympus E-5 is a fairly minor one, but certainly helpful for folks that want to take advantage of it.
Updating your Olympus E-5 to version 1.2 will match up the rotation of the dial on the back of the HLD-4 battery holder/grip with the movement direction of the AF target. If you’re not using the HLD-4, the update won’t affect you at all.
To update, swing on over to Olympus, pick your model and follow the instructions provided.
