SanDisk Launches the World’s Fastest 128GB SDXC Card at CES 2012

SanDisk-128GB-SDXC.jpgWith newer cameras and HD video creating larger and larger file sizes, card capacities have to get bigger. But size isn’t the end all and be all when it comes to storage. Speed is just as, if not more important, depending on your application.

SanDisk’s latest card is designed with that in mind. The newest Extreme SDXC UHS-I is the fastest 128GB card on the market today with a read/write speed of up to 45MB per second. It’s able to record HD video without issue and is made to handle high-speed shooting of high resolution photos.

“Five minutes of Full HD video can consume one gigabyte of storage space,” says marketing director Susan Park. “Our new SanDisk Extreme SDXC card can capture up to ten hours of Full HD 3D video, enough to film an entire day here at the Consumer Electronics Show.”

SanDisk’s new cards are shipping now with a $ 199 MSRP on the 64GB version and a $ 399 price tag for 128GB.
