This is one of the more clever light
painting techniques we’ve seen in a while. Typically, people use a
source of illumination to paint with, but photographer Brian Maffitt
took a different approach. He aimed his projector out the window and started snapping long-exposure shots of the snow falling outside.
The result is unique and varied. In
some cases it looks like colored snow while in another it looks like
a series of fiber optic cables. It’s worth noting to be sure. Maffitt
found that the best results came from the incredibly colorful movie
‘The Lorax,’ and says that the rotating color wheel on the projector
resulted in some happy accidents in terms of his shots.
