Hot off the press, Canon has just unveiled the most advanced camera the company has ever developed, the EOS-1D X. The camera of all cameras for professional photogs, the EOS-1D X merges two powerful models aimed at two different markets (the EOS-1Ds Mark III and the EOS-1D Mark IV) into one mega powerhouse of a camera.
Some important features include:
- A full frame 18-megapixel CMOS image sensor
- Dual DIGIC 5+ image processors
- New Shutter with carbon fiber blades rated up to 400,000 cycles
- Burst shooting at 12fps at full res with AF, or up to 14fps without AF (JPEG only in hi-speed mode)
- Up to two stops lower noise than predecessors
- Third DIGIC 4 processor handles information from new 100,000 pixel RGB Metering sensor
- ISO settings from 100 – 51,200; expandable to Lo (50), Hi 1 (102,400) or Hi 2 (204,800)
- Dual CF card slots
- Built-in gigabit Ethernet
- New 61-point AF system
