Samsung, Panasonic, Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Kodak, Sony, Pentax, FujiFilm – these are some of the companies we tend to think about when we talk digital cameras. Of course, there are more than just the big name brands out there, including some new models from GE/General Imaging.
These newly announced cameras aren’t meant for the expert photographer but for those that might be a little newer to photography. The peak price of their 2012 offerings is $ 199 for the X600, which packs 25x zoom, a 14.4MP CMOS sensor, 1080p video recording and even 10fps shooting at full resolution.
The most entry-level of all of GE’s new cameras is the $ 69 C1440W, which gives you a 14.1MP resolution, 4x zoom and 720p video capture. $ 10 more takes you up to the J1458W which gives you 5x zoom and a lithium-ion battery instead of the AAs of the C1440W.
