Nippon Electric Creates Nearly Invisible Glass With No Reflections

Invisiglass.jpgWhen any new technology gets announced the first question we ask ourselves is “how could this be applied to photography?” Though when it comes to the uses of nearly invisible glass, we don’t have to think too hard.

The so called invisible glass is just what it sounds like. It’s glass that’s nearly undetectable by the human eye. Instead of reflecting eight percent of the light like normal glass does, this new glass reflects just a half of a percent. Imagine that on an LCD screen, or an anti-reflective coating for your lens. There are a lot of possibilities there.

Nippon Electric Glass is the company behind this new creation. They haven’t suggested what will be created from it, but likely candidates for any new product are small consumer electronics like cell phones, tablets and, of course, cameras.
